Two directors of the Department of Urban Roads are being investigated by the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) of the Ghana Police Service for allegedly taking bribes.
The two suspects have been identified as Benjamin Bampoe, the Tema Metropolitan Director, and Francis Torsu, who is the New Juaben Municipal Director of the Department.
Saaka Salia, the man who lodged a formal complaint to the CID for the two to be investigated said that the suspects disclosed that the Roads Minister was available for taking bribes, adding that they will do his bidding if he is able to give a certain amount of money.
When the president addressed the New Patriotic Party (NPP) national Delegates conference last week, he assured the nation that corrupt officials in his government will be investigated.
He was, however, quick to add that persons who make allegations of corruption against his officials should also be prepared to give evidence when called upon.
