Major Mahama’s wife hardly speaks – Father-in-law
The father of the lynched soldier, Capt (Rtd) Dennis Mahama said Major Mahama and Barbara were very close until his unfortunate demise.

This was revealed by the father of the father of the late soldier, Captain (Rtd) Denis Mahama.
In an interview with Accra-based Starr FM, Capt (Rtd) Dennis Mahama said Major Mahama and Barbara were very close until his unfortunate demise.

“Barbara is yet to recover. Barbara is yet to recover. They were very, very close. So she is yet to recover. But thanks to God she is still holding herself, picking herself up together.”
“She doesn’t talk. She cannot talk,” he added.
When asked whether she has not uttered any word since the demise of her husband he said she makes “very little” comments after the tragic incident.
Captain Maxwell Adam Mahama was sent to Denkyira-Obuasi to head a platoon of about 30 soldiers three weeks ago, a duty that saw him pay an ultimate price with his life.

He was lynched by residents of Denkyira-Obuasi in the Central region on Monday, May 29, and he will be laid to rest this Friday, June 9, 2017.
The Police has arrested 42 suspects in connection with the incident.
Mahama who will be buried on Friday, June 9, 2017, was posthumously promoted from Captain to Major by President Akufo-Addo on the recommendation of the Chief of Defence Staff, Lt. Gen. O.B Akwa.
