Professor of Wood Science urges unemployed graduates to venture into car washing, bee keeping and others

Professor of Wood Science at KNUST, Prof Dr Charles Antwi Boasiako has urged unemployed graduates to venture into car washing, bee keeping and others.

Professor of Wood Science at the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST), Prof Dr Charles Antwi Boasiako has urged Ghanaian unemployed graduates to venture into picture making, car washing, bee keeping and others in same line.

These sectors, according to him, can be of great benefit and properly cater for their respective families thus, they should not neglect them.

He stated that, “There a lot of innovations that we can use to live like picture making, cosmetic production, bee keeping for honey production, videoing, photography, grass cutter rearing  for self sustainability.”

He observed that many will laugh off such a proposition but he insisted that such jobs pay off better if only graduates put down their egos and  got engaged in those sectors.

Prof Antwi Boasiako indicated that it is needless to depend on government when these opportunities are available and can make them financially independent.

“There are a lot of backlog of graduates from various tertiary institutions who are all looking up to government for employment. Are we going to depend on government when these innovations are there to love?” he asked.

He admitted most graduates have been trained for white collar jobs but because these jobs are not available, graduates will need to venture into other areas on survival.
