We knew what we can do - Maxwell Konadu

Coach of the Black Stars B has expressed the self confidence his side had prior to the final against Nigeria which saw his side annex the trophy

On Sunday, September 24, 2017, the Black Stars B team beat their Nigerian counterparts 4-1 to annex the 2017 WAFU Cup of Nations.

Ghana did host and win in the 2017 edition of the WAFU Cup of Nations and that was the same story in the previous edition which was held in 2013.

The game was repeat of the final group stage game which ended 2-0 against Ghana.

Speaking to the media after the game the coach for the Black Stars B team expressed the confidence he had going into the game.

“We had a belief in ourselves and we know what we can do. We assured our numerous supporters that on Sunday the game will be different from what we witnessed that saw us lose 2-0.”

“True to our words the boys have proven that they can really play into instructions."

Konadu went on to also give credit to the fans for the massive support

“They have supported this team from Day 1 until today.  All we have to say is that we thank them so much for supporting this team.”

The WAFU tournament lasted from the 9th to the 24th of September, 2017.
