Black Stars B brushed Niger aside to reach WAFU final

Niger gave Ghana a scare in the early minutes of the first half with opportunities falling the way of Victorio Adebayor, Abubakar, Hernikou, yet they fluffed them.

Ghana in the 31 minute took the lead from a header after the stalwart Nigerian defender Kofi Dankwa couldn’t defend a corner because he picked up an injury and fell as a result of that and Kwame Kizito unmarked capitalized on that to nod home the ball.

Ghana started from where they left off in the first half of the game by pushing for more goals in the second half and gave the defence men of the Nigeriens much trouble and Kwame Kizito could have also recorded a brace after through ball from midfield  found him, yet Issah in post of Niger closed him down to deny Ghana the second goal.

Niger were hit by another trouble when they lost one of their centre backs through injury and just some few minutes afterwards Black Stars B registered the second goal- A ball was floated into the 18-yard box of the Nigerians and Emmanuel Lomotey set off Stephen Sarfo and the Berekum Chelsea striker made no mistake to slot it into the net in the 69 minute to make it 2-0.

Ghana  will face Nigeria who defeated Benin in their semi-finals game early today in the grand finale of the 2017 WAFU Cup on Sunday at the Cape Coast Sports Stadium.
