Ghanaian football star Asamoah Gyan has become one of world's football highest earners after his deal wth Chinese big spenders Shanghai SIPG.
The Black Stars of Ghana captain has signed a deal worth £227,000-a-week - an amount topped by only seven other players in the world.
Gyan left UAE side Al Ain where he was earning the region of £160,000 to coached by former England coach, Sven-Göran Eriksson.
"I want to really thank the entire Al Ain club and its fans for the support they have me in my time here," Gyan told Al Ain's official website.
"At Al Ain we were able to achieve a lot of things and I tell you this club will remain in my heart forever.
"It is however time to embrace a new challenge and hopefully this new challenge will be as successful or even better than my time here at Al Ain."
Gyan touched down at the Shanghai Pudong International Airport on Wednesday, July 8.
The 29-year-old will be replaced at Al Ain by Nigerian international Emmanuel Emenikeundefined.
