In the wake of reports that the alleged rape victim in the KKD rape case wishes to no longer continue with the court case, KKD has issued a statement to apologize to Ghanaians and Ewuraffe Orleans Thompson. In a statement dated January 12, 2015 and signed by KKD was release on Tuesday January 13, 2015 describing the whole situation as traumatizing.
KKD pleaded âwith all in the media to spare Ewuraffe and our respective families any further agoniesâ but rather âpray for usâ he added.
âI have sinned and have prayed to God for forgivenessâ he acknowledged. KKD was arrested on Sunday, December 27, 2014 by the Airport Police for allegedly raping a 19-year-old lady.
Although he denied forcing her but he admitted having a âconsensual sexâ with the lady.
He was denied bail a couple of times by the Human Rights High Court as well as a District Magistrate Court. He was rushed to the Police Hospital while in the custody of police after his feet got swollen.
In a dramatic turn, the accuser in a two-page letter addressed to the Director of Public Prosecutions at the Attorney Generalâs Department said she was no longer interested in pursuing the case, after his case for bail was adjourned to Thursday, January 15.
