Menaye won the Miss Universe pageant in 2004 and later represented Ghana at the international event where she was named as one of the beautiful faces at the event.
At the launch of the 2017 edition of the pageant, she revealed that the pageant’s International organisers have made her it’s new director alongside her company, MALZ Promotions who will be in charge of running the pageant.

The launch which took place at Carbon Night Club, Airport City was attended by several Ghanaian personalities including Bola Ray, Benny Blanco, Sulley Muntari and Deborah Vanessa (Sister Derby)and was hosted by Radio/TV host, Kofi Okyere Darko.
“Miss Universe has opened a lot of doors for me,” the beauty queen who doubles as an entrepreneur imitated, “having this license as the new Director for Miss Universe Ghana 2017 is such an amazing feeling...I was once a title holder representing Ghana internationally and I feel that it is my objective to assist the next title holder in making Ghana proud [and] represent Ghana internationally at the Miss Universe level.”
Menaye Donkor’s new role as the director will be a herculean one as the pageant has been hit with sex scandals, court suits, bribery allegations and organisers’ inability to award prizes to winners.
The 2017 edition of the Miss Universe pageants is slated for September 2.
