While some believe it is a directive from God, others insist it is not supported by any Biblical evidence.

In fact, there are even some churches that do not believe in the process of tithing and, therefore, do not pay tithes at all.

Although Dumelo believes in tithing, he has revealed that he often gives his tithes to the needy rather than the church.

According to the actor, he does not know it his actions are wrong, but he feels that is the right thing to do because the needy “need it more”.

“I give my tithe to the needy most of the time. I think they need it more than the ‘church’. I don’t know if it’s wrong,” Dumelo wrote on Twitter.

Dumelo and his wife Gifty Mawuenya recently welcomed their first baby, who they named John Dumelo Jnr.
