Former Black Stars no.1 Richard ‘Olele’ Kingston has described his appointment as goalkeepers’ trainer for the Black Stars as “a big privilege”, insisting his focus now is to produce great goalkeepers for the national team.
Kingston manned the post for Ghana for over a decade, playing in five Africa Cup of Nations tournaments.

The former Blackpool and Birmingham shot-stopper also played in two World Cups for Ghana in 2006 and 2010, before retiring in 2015.
The 38-year-old was confirmed as the Black Stars’ goalkeeper’s trainer as part of coach Kwesi Appiah’s newly constituted technical team.
Having already started training the ‘B’ team of the Black Stars (Local Black Stars), Kingston insists he is focused on getting the best pair of hands for the Black Stars.
He told the media: “I am very happy; this means a lot to me.

“There are many former goalkeepers in the country and for you to be given the job as a goalkeepers' coach is a big privilege.
“All I need to do now is to do my best for the team and make sure we get good and great goalkeepers for the Black Stars.”
The Black Stars currently have three goalkeepers in Adam Kwarasey, Fatau Dauda and Razak Brimah battling for the no.1 spot, and it remains to be seen who will get the nod in Kwesi Appiah’s first official match.
