The Convention People’s Party (CPP) has opened nominations today, Monday, December 28, for the party's presidential and parliamentary primaries slated for next year.
The party has pegged its flag bearer ship filling fee at GH₵150,000.00 as the party opens nomination from December 28 to January 11, 2016.
Nomination forms might be purchased for GH¢5,000.00 from the office of the General Secretary at the National Secretariat, CPP Headquarters, Asylum Down, in Accra.
Other presidential primary aspirants are former Presidential Candidate Dr Abu Sakara Forster, who is expected to pick forms for a second time to lead the party in the 2016 elections.
Legal practitioner Bright Akwetey, who has also expressed interest to contest the presidential primary is expected to pick forms.
Aspirants have 14 days within which to pick forms to contest the primaries.
The CPP, which is the party which gained independence for Ghana, currently has only one Member of Parliament, Moses Amadu Yahaya, who won a by-election in Kumbungu Constituency.
The party is expected to hold its congress to elect its 2016 presidential and parliamentary candidates by January, January 28 and 29, 2016.
