Golden Globes Awards announces nominations despite diversity controversy

Despite the recent controversies surrounding the Golden Globes Awards, the Hollywood Foreign Press Association (HFPA) has announced the nominations for the 7th edition.

The nominations for the 2022 Golden Globes Awards were announced on Monday, December 13. American hip-hop legend Snoop Dogg and HFPA president Helen Hoehne announced the nominees.

"The Power of the Dog" and "Belfast" led the nominees list in the film category, bagging seven nods each. In the television series category, "Succession," a drama by HBO, garnered the most nominations with five. It is followed by Apple's "Ted Lasso" and "The Morning Show," with four nominations each.

The annual award ceremony recognizes excellence in both American and international film and television. Golden Globe Awards 2022 is scheduled for January 9, 2022.
