Young members of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in Nadowli Kaleo in the Upper West Region have warned the Minister of Gender, Children and Social Protection to stop interfering in the appointment of a DCE for the area.
Otiko Afisa Djaba has been acused of lobbying to get the constituency women’s organiser appointed as the District Chief Executive of the area.
The youth in the party argue that Kate Lankono is not the best candidate for the job.

The Spokesperson for the youth Eric Dademe told Accra-based Starr FM that they will resist any attempt to impose the Minister’s choice on them.

He described the Minister’s alleged interference as “inappropriate”. He added that they would not allow her do what she wants.
Other youth groups in the NPP have also accused different government officials of interfering in the process to select district, municipal and metropolitan Chief executives for their respective areas.
