To mark the special occasion, a special reception was held at the former president's residence in Accra.

Kufuor, nicknamed "The Gentle Giant," governed Ghana between 2001 to 2009 after leading the New Patriotic Party to a second round victory in the 2000 election.

Wearing a white outfit with a beautiful hat, Kufuor could be seen full of happiness as he received his visitors.

Interestingly, some very special moments were captured at the celebration. The key one was when former chairman of the NPP, Paul Afoko, met Akufo-Addo.
