It is not always easy to find the right person you want to spend the rest of your life with. So, you should probably stop looking, and marry yourself.
That is what a growing number of "sologamists" are doing. They are part of a growing relationship trend, where they tie the knot to themselves.
Erika Anderson is one of them. âI would describe it as women saying yes to themselves,â Anderson said. âIt means that we are enough, even if we are not partnered with someone else.â
The 37-year-old bride in a white dress and bouquet looked like any other on her wedding day. The only difference is that when she walked down the aisle, she had no one waiting for her.

Anderson said that is exactly the way she wanted it because she was just tired of people asking why she was still single. She, therefore, took the decision to marry herself in the presence of family and friends.
âMarry Yourselfâ in Canada provides consulting and wedding photography. There is also IMarriedMe.com, launched by San Francisco man Jeffrey Levin, wusa9.com reports.
His site offers sologamy ceremony kits, which includes a wedding band, daily affirmation cards, and vows. âI think itâs increased over the years, and itâs something thatâs becoming more understood and more accepted,â Levin said.
But self-marriage is not a legally binding union, and so Anderson who just celebrated her one-year anniversary said even though she is married to herself, she is dating and open to marrying another person.
