Ebenezer Assifuah's two assists not enough as Sion get dumped

Ghanaian player Ebenezer Assifuah assisted Sion's two goals in their draw against Braga in the UEFA Europa League

Assifuah was handed a start for Sion against Braga away from home and played 76 minutes before being replaced by Geoffrey Mujangi Bia.

The Ghana international’s set up for Sion’s two goals was not enough as his team was eliminated from the round of 32 on aggregate results after Wednesday’s game ended in a 2-2 draw.

Theofanis Gekas scored the opening goal for Sion with Josue equalizing from the penalty spot for home team Braga. Gekas completed a brace to restore Sion’s lead taking them into the interval leading by 2-1.

Nikola Stojiljkovic scored three minutes after the break to put the game at 2-2 with both teams failing to score again.

Braga won the first leg away from home by 2-1 and qualified to the round of 16 with a 4-3 aggregate scoreline.
