Kudjoe Fianoo: Ashgold have a long way to go

The Chief Executive of the Miners is in doubt about his sides’s preparedness for their CAF Champions League campaign on Sunday.

Kudjoe Fianoo after Ashgold’s 0-1 loss to Medeama SC in the FA Super has stated that they need to improve on their performance ahead of their CAF Champions League clash against M.O Bejaia.

A late minute goal from substitute Bernard Ofori won the Super Cup for the Tarkwa lads, in a game they dominated Ashgold.

Kudjoe Fianoo, who had earlier indicated that the Miners have no excuse not to manage a victory over M.O Bejaia of Algeria, has eaten back a humble pie, after watching Medeama outplay  his outfit in the Super Cup on last week Sunday.

“We (Ashgold) have a long way to go ahead of our CAF Champions League. I think we didn’t play to our best against Medeama, although we have our reservations.

“Our poor performance could be that the players didn’t play to the instructions of the coach. We have about 5 days before we play the Champions League game, so we need to double our effort,” he told Happy FM.

Ashgold will on this Sunday come face to face with M.O Bejaia in the First leg of the CAF Champions League preliminary stage at the Obuasi Len Clay Sports Stadium.
