First local food festival seeks to showcase the culture of Ghana through food
It is the first local food festival that seeks to showcase the culture of Ghana mainly through traditional food, performances and display of art, culture and dance.
The event is slated for the 10th and 11th June 2017 at Venue Gh, located behind Tullow Oil, Dzorwulu.
Chow Ghana is envisioned to be a household event held annually to attract both locals and expatriates from all walks of life to come and have a feel of the First Ghanaian food festival.
The idea of the event is to create excitement around traditional foods which Ghanaians have grown up to love. It also a platform to encourage art, talent and promote the Ghanaian culture.
Other aims of the event include:
Bringing Ghana's favourite local meals together
Foster relationships, partnerships and creativity through food
Create and encourage a bond with Ghana’s food brands, making them the people’s first choice
And promoting made in Ghana products, promoting local and international tourism in Ghana.
There will be 100 exclusive vendors showcasing local dishes from every region in Ghana. A Food forum to instil creativity & innovation in local food making is also part of the activities. Topic includes how to better market, package and process our local food for global markets etc.
Guest Dining experience ( happy hour), Culture and dance parade & display, a Fashion show and music show are also on the bill to entertain consumers.
