Black Starlets cautioned against Indian food

The national U-17 male football team of Ghana have been warned against Indian food.

Ghana are drawn in group A of the 2017 FIFA U-17 World Cup alongside hosts India, Colombia and the USA and are currently in Delhi, the Indian capital preparing for the competition.

However, Mike Ocquaye Jnr., the Ghana High Commissioner to India who welcomed the team to the South Asian country took advantage of the welcome ceremony to advice them regarding the dos and dons.

“The biggest problem I know you may face in India is the food, because most of you may not be familiar with it, and also because it’s spicy nature is not good for sports.

“So for those of you who are not comfortable with the food, tell your superiors early so they make provision for some Ghanaian food for you,” he said.

The Black Starlets will open the tournament on Friday when they face off with Colombia.

Ghana are two times champions of the competition they last won in 1995.
