Hearts of Oak beat Olympics 2-1
The Phobians showed good display of football at the Ohene Djan Sports Stadium, as they defeated city rivals, Gt. Olympics 2-1 on Sunday.
The 20 times league champions started the game very well by dictating the pace of the game, yet it was the ‘Wonder Club’ who found the opener in the 22nd minute When Emmanuel Amartey nodded a ball home.
Gt. Olympics after breaking the deadlock continued to control the game, but it was Hearts of Oak who snatched the equaliser against the run of play- centre-back Asiamah Badu committed a defensive blunder and Patrick Razak capitalized on that to score.
After the interval Hearts of Oak came into the game strongly and seized play with delightful football to entertain the crowd.
The Phobians with 11 minutes into the second half got the match winner when Patrick Razak took a ball from the midfielder and located Kwame Kizito who tapped in the ball.
Gt. Olympics in the closing stages of the game pilled incessant pressure on Hearts of Oak I search for the equaliser and even created several goal scoring opportunities, but they wasted the chances and the backline of the latter were also solid to neutralize their threats on some occasions
