The Wa giants who are currently on top of the league table with 41 points will be looking forward to extend their lead with a win over Hearts of Oak who are one point behind the leaders.
The Wa lads will engage the Phobians at Wa on Wednesday
Definitely it will be a tough game for the two teams as a win for a particular club will boost that club chances of winning the Ghana Premier League.
The two sides in their last league game failed to clinch a win, Wa All Stars lost 1-0 at Dwarfs while the Phobians drew 1-1 at home with struggling Techiman City.
Wa All Stars in the ongoing campaign are yet to lose a game at home – they have won nine games and draw three, conceding only one goal while until match day 23 Hearts of Oak had not lost on the road but WAFA ended their impressive away performance by scoring three goals against the Accra giants.
In the first round at the Accra Sports Stadium, Coach Enos Adepa’s side stunned the Phobians by winning 3-1, a game Wa All Stars outplayed the former Premier League champions.
Richard Arthur who has been Wa All Stars leading marksman ahead of the game spoke with Pulse.com.gh, and that he is sure of a win against the Phobians.
“Hearts of Oak will be coming into the game as wounded lions, but we are not going allow them to run over us. No matter what they do we will beat them,” Arthur opined.
“We are not ready to succumb our lead to any club, we have to win in order to maintain our lead because we want to win the league and we are in good position to achieve that,” he added.
But Hearts of Oak’s general captain Thomas Abbey says their chase for the league title will depend on their game against the Wa based club.
“In our last four games we have not had the results that we wanted and playing against Wa All Stars at their home will be difficult but trust Hearts of Oak to grind out the needed results,” Abbey told Pulse.com.gh.
“Though Wa is a difficult grounds, we have the men to win against them. We are going all out because we want to put smiles back on the faces of our supporters.”
