Nana Addo will only participate after party outdoors manifesto

IEA has on two occasions postponed its encounter with the presidential candidate of the opposition NPP.

He allayed public fears that the presidential candidate has been dodging the IEA debate.

Speaking on Kumasi-based Abusua FM, Peter Mac Manu assured that the party will soon outdoor its manifesto.

Commenting on the transparency in the 2016 elections, Mr Manu indicated that the NPP will act as a watch dog on December 7.

He however expressed worry that NDC will steal their manifesto when launched just like they did in 2012.

According to him, the party’s manifesto committee are working around the clock to come out with their manifesto.

“I promise that within this month of August, the manifesto will be out, but I don’t see the reason why we have to allow NDC twist our arms in this year’s election, their manifesto is not out, this election is a referendum on the 8 years rule of the NDC, they are unable to tell us measures put in place to solve corruption, unemployment, high-interest rates, National Health Insurance Scheme (NHIS) and they want to turn it on NPP. Just like they did in four years ago on our free Senior High School (SHS) policy and the election was all about free SHS policy. It’s wrong,” he said.

No reason has been given for the postponement of Nana Addo’s encounter.

The Evening Encounter provides an opportunity for presidential candidates of parties with Members of Parliament to open up on an abridged version of their manifestos.

A series for vice presidential candidates has also been scheduled while presidential candidates of parties with no representation in Parliament have their turn in a special event.
