Ghana striker reveals reasons behind Swansea move

The 25-year-old has conducted his first full interview since his move to Wales.

The 25-year-old joined the Swans during the January transfer window from Championship side Aston Villa.

Swansea will be his fourth club in the last three years, following spells at Sochaux (loan), Lorient and Aston Villa.

"For the past three or four years I have been all over the place,” Ayew admitted, speaking to Swansea's media channel.

“I need stability and I think this is the perfect place for me to grow and improve in a lot of aspects. I think I made a wonderful choice."

Ayew will wear the number 3 shirt at the Liberty Stadium.

“I am so grateful to be here. It’s the next step in my career," he said. “I have been here several times in the past with my brother and I saw a lot of positive things. "

Jordan follows in the footsteps of his brother Andre, who shone at Swansea last season as their top scorer before landing a big money move to West Ham ahead of this season.

And, unsurprisingly, his big brother was a prime reason behind his decision to move from Villa.

“He spoke to me about the club and he said only good things," said the younger Ayew. "It didn’t take too long for me to make a decision."

The former Marseille striker is set to make his Premier League debut on Sunday when Swansea host defending champions Leicester City.

"It’s a new chapter for me and I’m focused on doing my best for the team by creating assists and scoring goals," he said.

“My debut comes when it comes. What is important is that we get the three points on Sunday because it’s a massive game for us.”
