Party members planning to steal under my government should stay away

“ Public service is going to be just that, public service. I have said it before, and I will repeat it. Those who are coming into office, if we win, must understand that they are coming to give public service. Those who are coming there to make money must stay in the private sector,” Nana Addo said.

The 2016 flagbearer of the New Patriotic Party Nana Akufo -Addo is  warning all  members of his party who have plans of looting public finds when the party comes to power to stay in the private sector

He said an administration led by him will not tolerate corruption in any form.

“Public office is no longer going to be the platform for the brazen theft of public funds.” Nana Addo said addressing party supporters at a fundraising dinner organized in London by the UK branch of the Young Executive Forum of the NPP.

“ Public service is going to be just that, public service. I have said it before, and I will repeat it. Those who are coming into office, if we win, must understand that they are coming to give public service. Those who are coming there to make money must stay in the private sector,” he said.

Nana Addo said his main focus for the country when he becomes president is to “build a Ghana where there are jobs for our young people, where our people do not defecate in the open, a Ghana which is fit for the 21 century.”

He repeated his promise of appointing an independent special prosecutor with legislative backing to solely deal with corruption.

He said the NPP is ready to use all legitimate means to ensure that the elections are free, fair and credible.

“The NPP is ready for the big task ahead and we’re not going to permit twenty seven zero to happen. We are going to do whatever is legitimately possible to effect the change that Ghanaians need,” he said.
