NDC creates committee to find jobs for party members only – NPP

The NDC on Wednesday inaugurated a number of committees tasked to create jobs for party members in both the private and the public sector

The New Patriotic Party (NPP) has described the governing National Democratic Congress’ (NDC) plan to use a party’s committee to create jobs for its members as the most bankrupt idea from the government.

The NDC on Wednesday inaugurated a number of committees tasked to create jobs for party members in both the private and the public sector.

Chairman of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Kofi Portuphy announcing the formation of the Business Development Committee chaired by Trades Minister, Ekwow Spio Gabrah said, the committee will look at “available opportunities for our people, for ourselves, to create jobs in the private sector and possibly in the public sector as well for our people.”

But Communications Director for the NPP, Nana Akomea has said that the NDC’s policy is “mind boggling” and discriminatory.

“There are over 1,000 things wrong with it… the constitution, even in the NDC manifesto and constitution, you will find out that they talk about anti-discrimination and I can’t believe that the ruling party will actually put forth this proposition before Ghanaians”

“It is mind boggling! It shatters my mind and I am sure millions of Ghanaians will be completely outraged that they pay taxes to government and they are going to discriminate against them in terms of provision of jobs on the basis of their political party affiliations”, he said on Citi FM’s Eyewitness News.
