CEO of Chale Wote Festival sues Wanlov

The Chief Executive Officer of Chale Wote Street Arts Festival, Mantse Nii Aryeequaye has filed a lawsuit against musician Emmanuel Owusu-Bonsu aka Wanlov the Kubolor.

Wanlov and Mantse Nii

Mantse took this action following a series of social media post by Wanlov defending Sionne Rameah Neely – the former co-director of Chale Wote Festival – who accused him [Mantse] of physical and verbal assault.

In September this year, Sionne issued a long statement, explaining the psychological and physical trauma she endured in the hands of Mantse.

Wanlov was quick to take up the matter and even accused Mantse of being a sexual predator, and abusing women.

“Mantse Melvin Nii Aryeequaye of AccraDotAlt , Sabolai Radio Music Festival , Chalewote Street Art Festival & Redd Kat Pictures is a woman beater, woman abuser & sexual predator. He picked the wrong person to intimidate,” Wanlov stated in a tweet.

But a writ dated October 31, 2019, has been given Wanlov eight-day ultimatum to appear before the court.

Mantse shared the writ through Twitter but cropped out the content of the statement.

Wanlov quickly responded to the writ by sharing screenshots of Sionne’s statement on Mantse and captioned it with a vulgar word.
