Okuoimose said that the accused, who just moved into the house, was in the habit of using water that had offensive odour to wet the passage every morning.

"Since the day the accused moved into the house, he has been sprinkling water that has very bad odour in the passage for no just cause.

"On that fateful day, the complainant, who was confused as to what the sprinkling of water meant, decided to stop him from performing his usual routine.

"When the complainant prevented him from sprinkling water on the passage floor, the accused rushed to lock the entrance door to prevent other tenants from coming to her rescue as he descended on her," he said.

The prosecutor alleged that the accused pummelled the landlady with a plank and maliciously damaged the complainant's window glass.
