Lashkar-e-Islam, a relatively unknown group, in the Sopore region of Kashmir, has claimed responsibility of the attacks and subsequent killing of two people.
The organisation had previously issued a threat to telecom companies in the Sopore region, saying "tracking telecommunication network had led to killings of militants in the valley.''
A statement released by the group said 'One of the two persons whom we killed was the informer of army and STF and we have evidence. The second one was not killed deliberately. If we had intent to kill him, we would have killed all employees present there.'
They also urged Syed Ali Shah Geelani, a hardline separatist leader, who condemned the killings by Lashkar-e-Islam, to get his facts right.
