Korle-Bu Teaching Hospital has re-opened the Eye Clinic "following several concerns regarding excessive heat at the centre".
Authorities at the centre said the restructuring was due to improve the poor ventilation and unsafe working condition(s) at the clinic.

A statement signed by the Public Relations Officer of the hospital Mustapha Salifu, stated that “We have successfully upgraded the ventilation and cooling system at the centre and thus improved the working environment and safety of both staff and patients.”

The statement added that the “hospital wishes to express appreciation to the Lions Club International, IPMC, Ecobank Ghana ltd, Rene Chemist, Ansapharma ltd, Moorfields Eye Hospital UK, Mr. George Bako and Mr. Pius Gyamfi for their donations and support.”
