According to him, he was forced by National Security operatives led by Hopeson Adorye to apologise to the President.
"National Security operatives led by Hopeson Adorye pointed a gun at me and asked me to apologize. I was left me with no other option than to apologize," he said.

Speaking on Accra-based Asempa FM, he said "I wouldn’t have apologized to President Akufo-Addo if I was not forced. I had to say something to save my life."
He claimed he was sent to the house of Madam Ama Busia where he met Prophet Owusu Bempah where he was maltreated for expressing his opinion.
He added that he was treated like a common criminal when he only stated the obvious truth.
"I was kidnapped and they were threatening to kill me if I don’t apologize so I had to do it," he noted.

Appiah Stadium who was supposed to be part of the "Save Mahama Campaign" and a street demonstration in the United States of America was refused a visa by the embassy.
Appiah Stadium registering his disappointment for not being part of the protest said he would have wrapped a substance, puffed the smoke through his nostrils to show that Nana Addo smokes if he had had the opportunity.

He alleged that "It is sad I was denied a visa, I would have wrapped a substance and smoked in front of the president and his entourage and show them that he smokes."
However, he has rendered an unqualified apology to the President.
He was arrested by the police in the Ashanti region and transferred to Criminal Investigations Department at the police headquarters in Accra.

But the President in a press statement signed by the Information Minister Mustapha Hamid said Appiah Stadium was blinded by propaganda.

"H.E. Nana Akufo-Addo wishes to state that he is not interested in pursuing the matter since same was ruled upon by the National Media Commission (NMC) on February 6, 2015. This followed series of publications in pro NDC news papers making similar claims.
The President has informed the Police administration that he is not interested in the matter and has asked them to be accordingly advised," the statement stated.
