The Ashanti Regional Chairman of the New Patriotic Party, Bernard Antwi Boasiako is accusing the regional police commander, DCOP Kofi Boakye of displaying his bias for the NDC in the region.
According to the NPP regional chairman popularly known as "Chairman Wuntomi" he is not perturbed by the open bias of the police commander in the region.
He also accused the regional police commander for trying to bring his name into disrepute. Chairman Wuntomi made the assertion in a radio interview on Kumasi based Ash FM.
Mr. Boasiako was in police custody Tuesday for allegedly assaulting the party's Member of Parliament for Manhyia North, Collins Owusu Amankwah.
Chairman Wuntomi is said to have slapped the MP and the NPP's constituency secretary Felix Ibrahim at a polling center during the limited voter registration exercise, Sunday.
The matter has since be withdrawn from the police and dealt with as a "family matter".
