The controversial OBS software procured by SSNIT, cost $72million and not $66 million as widely publicized in the media.
This was revealed by the Director-General of the SSNIT, Dr. John Ofori Tenkorang.
He said SSNIT was incurring more cost over the software because it intermittently experienced challenges that required technicians to rectify.
The state pensions trust is currently being investigated by the Economic and Organized Crime Office (EOCO) for spending $72 million on procuring and installing software and other hardware systems.
However, the head of SSNIT’s Management Information Systems, Dr Caleb Afaglo has been interdicted for presenting forged documents for the job.
The initial investigation has indicated that Dr Afaglo does not have a doctorate, a masters’ degree or a first degree as he claimed.
