This follows the dismissal of Otto Addo as head coach after a series of underwhelming performances.

Several high-profile names have reportedly expressed interest in the role, including Kwesi Appiah, Walid Regragui, Pitso Mosimane, Tom Saintfiet, and Hervé Renard, among others.

According to reliable sources, the government is prepared to provide the necessary financial backing to ensure the GFA secures a top-tier and accomplished coach ahead of the upcoming FIFA World Cup.

GFA President Kurt Okraku, speaking in an interview with 3Sports, emphasized the association’s desire to appoint a coach with a strong winning pedigree and the ability to inspire confidence within the team.

He stated,

We want to move forward, and I believe the Executive Council is well positioned to appoint the next coach—one who will restore belief and confidence

He further stressed that the ideal candidate should possess a solid track record at both club and national team levels, with a history of winning trophies and commanding respect in the dressing room.

Okraku added,

The players must look at the coach and recognize someone who has achieved success before and understands what it takes to win

The Black Stars will be making their fifth FIFA World Cup appearance and are drawn in Group L, where they will face Panama, England, and Croatia when the tournament kicks off on June 11 across the United States, Canada, and Mexico.
