Winner to receive prize money which is enough to compete in Africa

The chairman of the MTN FA Cup organizing committee Kurt Okraku announced the packages.

The chairman of the MTN FA cup organizing committee Kurt Okraku announced the packages which will go to the various teams pertaining to the outcome of the final.

Mr Kurt Okraku did say at the event that GH¢100,000 will go as prize money to the club who will eventually represent Ghana at the CAF Confederation Cup next year.

He then gave the breakdown of the packages at stake for both teams:

"We have 50,000 cedis that will go to the winner of the battle to be staged in Tamale. We have 15,000 for the losing side.

"We have 30 gold and 30 silver medals to be picked up. We have 2000 cedis worth of MTN talk time for each of the two teams and most importantly the bragging rights," Kurt Okraku ended.

The mascot for the event which will be held at Tamale Sports Stadium on the 29th of October was also unveiled.

The mascot named "Mr Obiaa nye Obiaa" will be one exciting introduction to the FA Cup which is a tournament which seems to grow year after year.

A tour of the coveted trophy at stake through the two major cities of Accra and Kumasi where the two sides are based will start on Thursday to build momentum and euphoria prior to the final at the end of this month.
