The Premier League champions lost by three goals to nil against Antonio Conte’s men.

In English Championship, Albert Adomah was in action for Aston Villa in Steve Bruce’s first game as manager at the club. Jordan Ayew was an unused substitute in the 1-1 draw game against Wolverhampton Wanderers.

Christian Atsu was also in action for Newcastle United who won their Championship game against Brentford by three goals to one.

Emmanuel Agyemang-Badu and Kwadwo Asamoah were all absent from the Italian Serie A game between Juventus and Udinese. Juventus won at home by two goals to one.

Godfred Donsah featured for his Bologna team in the Serie A and they drew 1-1 away from home to Lazio.

In the Spanish La Liga, Kevin-Prince Boateng was in action in Las Palmas’ home game against Espanol. The La Liga tie ended goalless.

Thomas Partey was an unused substitute as his Atletico Madrid team run riot in the La Liga over the weekend. Atletico thrashed Granada by seven goals to one as they took all three points on home soil.

Abdul Baba Rahman was at the back of defence for Schalke 04 who played a 1-1 draw against Augsburg in the German Bundesliga.

In the French Ligue 1, Abdul Majeed Waris was in full action when his FC Lorient team entertained Nantes. Waris and his team lost their home game by two goals to one.

Frank Acheampong went straight into the Anderlecht starting XI after his international break with the Black Stars. The Ghanaian played the full game for his Belgium team who won by a goal to nil against Lokeren.

Former Asokwa Deportivo striker, Joel Fameyehwas on target for Dinamo Brest when they lost 2-1 against Dinamo Minsk at Stadyen Traktar.

The 19-year old opened the scoring in the 38th minute, but his outfit couldn’t hold on to their lead, as the hosts fought from a goal down to win 2-1 in the Belarusian League.

Ghanaian defender,Harrison Afful scored for his side Columbus Crew when they lost 3-2 against New York Red Bulls in the MLS Eastern Conference on Saturday at the Red Bull Arena in New Jersey.

Afful's strike came in the 83rd minute to make it 3-2 to keep the head on the hosts in the dying minutes.

David Accam scored in the 80th minute as his Chicago Fire side eliminated the New England Revolution from playoff contention with a 2-1 victory Sunday.

Accam scored his ninth goal of the season when he raced to Jonathan Campbell through ball and finished on a one-on-one opportunity.

Ghanaian midfielder Kwadwo Poku hit the back of the net when Miami FC drew 2-2 with Tampa Bay Rowdies in the American second-tier league on Friday.

The 24-year-old broke the deadlock of the game in the 21st minute before his teammate made it 2-0 in their favour.

However, Tampa Bay Rowdies fought from two-goal down to hold Miami FC to a 2-2 draw in the end.

Asamoah Gyan continued his scoring ways for his new club Al Ahli as they overcame the resilence of FUS Rabat on Sunday night.

The Ghana captain’s second-minute strike proved enough to see off a powerful Moroccan side to win The Emirati-Moroccan Super Cup, adding to last month’s triumph in the Arabian Gulf Super Cup.
