Ghanaian actress and comedian, Afia Schwarzenegger has expressed her condolences to the family of Captain Maxwell Adam Mahama.

Since everyone wants to hear my opinion...let's do this.

In an Instagram post, Afia wrote “It is a very very sad day for Ama Ghana to have lost a fine gentleman who dedicated his life to protecting us...to the people he sworn to protect...i watched the video and as a mother n wife...my heart bleeds for his mother, spouse, children, his father who probably convinced his only son to follow his footstep and the entire nation....”.

Captain Mahama was the victim of mob justice by a group of residents in a town in the Upper Denkyira West District of the Central Region. He was lynched to death and his body burned by residents who claim he was mistaken for a suspected armed robber. A claim that has since been questioned by many.

The mother-of-twins also lashed out at ‘corrupt’ government officials who accept bribes instead of instilling law and order in the country.

“But this is a nation that our judges take goats to free criminals so how do we convince civilians not to take the laws into their own hands....this is a nation that the police tells u after reporting a thief to go arrest him n bring him...how do we convince our civilians to stop this mob action..”I am not in anyway condoning this barbaric act but the truth is we have all lost confidence in our judiciary system...

This is a country that one can threaten you with mob action.."if you don't leave I will scream thief thief" .This is a country that people can storm court n order their people out n in 2 weeks they are set free

This is a country that our military know that murder is a crime that needs to be investigated n prosecuted...but choose to take the laws into their own hands and humiliate civilians in a village whether u were part or not...and still have some Ghanaians condoning that.

This is a country that everyone is a journalist so they will rather video someone's predicament than applying common sense to bring a solution. This is the country that killed Capt Max Mahama...we are all guilty!!!!”.

Afia also paid her tribute to the last Captain with an emotional message. “Rest on Soldier...it is my prayer that your death brings revival to this corrupt nation of ours...Rest in the Lord our hero. God bless our homeland Ghana”.
