Chile and Juventus midfielder, Arturo Vidal was all tears during a press conference were he apologised for his part in a car crash.

With Chile currently hosting the Copa America, with Vidal having been the tournament's star player so far with three goals in two games, there were fears that the midfielder will be kicked out of the Chile squad .

Chile national team coach Jorge Sampaoli however decided against kicking him out of the squad.

A dejected Vidal at a press conference could not hold back his tears undefined.

"As all of you already know, I put the life of my wife and a lot of persons in risk. I am so sorry and just want to thank to all the people who supported me while I was with the police," said.

"I just want to apologise to my team-mates, manager, staff and all the country.
