Bishop Obinim constructs GH¢1.2m road

The road construction projects has been undertaken in Kumasi suburbs of Bosore and Brofoyedu, both in the Kwabre District of the Ashanti Region.

The General Overseas and Founder of the International God’s Way International Church, Bishop Daniel Obinim is believed to be embarking on the project following several complaints from residents of area where the church is located.

The project, which is intended to bring relief to residents of the area and the motoring public, has so far cost the controversial gospel preacher some GH¢1.2 million after the primerseal, according to the General Administrator of the church, Rev Kwadwo Adu Boahen.

He told DAILY GUIDE that Bishop Obinim wanted to do more in his role as a reverend minister than just healing the sick and the afflicted in society.

Rev Boahen said the leader of God’s Way International Church is undertaking the road construction due to the number of complaints he (Obinim) had received from the residents.

He disclosed that Bishop Obinim, aka ‘Angel,’ decided to spend some of his money for the benefit of the local residents of the area where the Kumasi branch of his church is based as part of his contribution to society.

He asserted that his boss believed urgent action was needed to improve the country’s road network, particularly in the Ashanti Region, where the roads have gone beyond repairs.

For the reverend minister, about 70 percent of roads in the region were in need of repairs, and the church is doing its part and expects others to emulate the kind gesture for the benefit of the poor in society.

Some of the drivers, who ply the road, praised Bishop Daniel Obinim for his sense of magnanimity, pointing out that the construction of the Brofoyedu-Bosore Road would lessen their plight.

“We are very thankful to ‘Angel’ Obinim for this road construction project. It has reduced the frequent breakdown of our taxies,” Joe Frank, a driver at the Brofoyedu Taxi Rank indicated.

He told the paper that the road was in a deplorable condition and had caused numerous accidents prior to the construction, acknowledging that even though it is the sole responsibility of the government to construct roads, wealthy individuals can also help in the regard.
