Black Stars striker, Abdul Majeed Waris has made his pick between coaches Kwesi Appiah and Avram Grant, insisting he prefers playing under the latter.
Grant succeeded Kwesi Appiah as Ghana coach in 2015, but left his post after just two years in charge.
The Israeli’s failure to lead Ghana to the 2017 Africa Cup of Nations trophy opened the doors for Appiah to stage a second-coming as Black Stars coach.
Majeed Waris is privileged to have played under both coaches, and the Black Stars striker is adamant Appiah stands tall when compared to the former Chelsea boss.
“Kwesi Appiah is a better coach [than Grant] because he has been scoring and that is what everyone wants,” Waris was quoted as saying by Ghanasoccernet.com.
“I don’t really love comparing coaches. Each coach has their own philosophy which may work or may not work at a point in time, so you can’t say they are good or bad.
“But I feel very comfortable playing under Kwesi Appiah.
“If I have to choose, then of course I will choose Kwesi Appiah over Avram because Kwesi trusts me but Avram did not.
“I don’t remember the last time we won 5-0 but under Kwesi [Appiah], we are scoring more again. And we all see something good is happening.”
Waris was dropped by Grant when naming his squad for Ghana’s 2017 AFCON campaign, however, the Lorient attacker has gained favour with Appiah who included him in his squad for the recent AFCON qualifier against Ethiopia.
