Vehicle of IGP involved in accident

The accident occurred on the Accra-Kumasi Highway on Wednesday, 21 June.

An official vehicle of the Inspector General of Police (IGP), David Asante-Apeatu has been involved in an accident.

He was, however, not in the car when the accident happened.
The vehicle, a Toyota Landcruiser, was being driven by Chief Inspector John Ankomah, when it crashed into a KIA Rhino truck at about 9:20 pm, at Nkawanda No. 2 near Nkawkaw in the Eastern Region.
The truck was also being driven by a 28-year-old man, identified as Alhassan Kipo, who was at the time carting fertiliser from Accra to Tamale.
Reports say the driver and another passenger on board sustained injuries and have since been admitted to the Holy Family Hospital at Nkawkaw for treatment.
