Veteran striker bows out of Chelsea with EPL title

Didier Drogba bowed out Chelsea for the second and presumably the final time after lifting the English Premier League tite.

Hours before Chelsea played their last game of the season, the veteran striker took to his Instagram pasge to announce that he will be leaving the club to play one more season before retiring.

"Today will be my last game for CFC. I have spoken at length with Jose and he understands I want to play for at least one more season. In order to play more football I know I need to go to another club. All the fans know my love for Chelsea & I hope to be back here in the future in another role," he wrote on his Instagram page.

And he couldn't have bowed out in more spectacular fashion.

The legend started the game as Chelsea trashed Sunderland 3-1 and celebrated with the English Premier League title at the end of the game.

To honour the veteran striker, Drogba was handed the captain's armband to lead Chelsea out and was hoisted by players in the 30th minute off the field after getting injured.

Sunderland manager, Dick Advocat had no problem with the fanfare.

"came to me before the game and explained it - we knew it would happen,’ the Dutch tactician said.

"It’s no problem, the player deserves it.’
