BNI pursue two teachers paid GHC10,000 for no work done

The two teachers received the over ten thousand Ghana Cedis wrongfully and vanished into thin air. There is manhunt for them now after the revelation at PAC.

A joint Bureau of National Investigations (BNI) and Ghana Police Service search is ongoing for two teachers of the Ghana Education Service who have been paid over GHc 10,000 for no work done.

The Western Regional Director of Non-formal Education, Samuel Mensah revealed this when he appeared before the Public Accounts Committee of Parliament on Thursday, August 10, 2017.

According to him, the said teachers, Madam Princess Simons of the Sekondi District Education office, and George Erzual of the Jomoro District Nonformal Education Directorate cannot be traced after the money was paid to them.

Mr. Mensah’s appearance follows the 2015 report of the Auditor General indicating that the incident happened in the Western region.

The devastated committee members urged Mr. Mensah to help the Police with every necessary information to enable them to discover and bring them to book.
