Accused Fails To Turn Up In Court

Kwasi Kyei Darkwah failed to turn up in court Thursday for hearing in the rape case involving him and a 19-year-old girl, Ewuraffe Orleans Thompson.

The State prosecutor pressing charges against the entertainment personality was angry at his inability to appear before court. This is the second time KKD has failed to show up.

Despite the letter written to the Police and other relevant bodies by the victim, Ewuraffe Orleans Thompson, declaring her disinterest in pursuing the case, the state has however, indicated its resolve to go ahead with the prosecution for the offence.

KKD was subsequently charged for raping Ewuraffe Orleans Thompson in a hotel.

State prosecutors said they have put together their evidence and the bill of indictment was served the accused with a summary of the evidence gathered.

The case has been adjourned to February 12, 2015.
