Scoring was much tougher on day two of the Puerto Rico Open, which Rafael Campos continues to lead on home soil.

Rafael Campos maintained his one-stroke lead at the Puerto Rico Open, despite carding a round seven shots worse than his opening effort.

Competing on home soil at Coco Beach, Campos moved to nine under with a solid if unspectacular one-under 71 on Friday, keeping him narrowly ahead of George McNeill.

Having started at the 10th, a steady front nine culminated with a gain at the ninth, while his back nine - which saw birdies at the two par fives on the way back in - was book-ended with bogeys.

Englishman Ian Poulter was the day's big mover, climbing 49 spots with a 66 that takes him to within two shots of the lead, level with defending champion Alex Cejka.

Poulter's six birdies came in two sets of three, including the final trio of holes to take some fine form into the weekend.
