'Happy' singer part of Live Earth concerts on 7 Continents

Top music producer and singer Pharrell will be one of the headlining acts at the Live Earth concerts which will be held simultaneously on all seven continents.

The concerts are being organized to push for action on climate change.

Former US Vice President Al Gore and Pharrell announced the details of the concerts at the World Economic Forum in Davos.

"We wanted to do something very different this time" said Pharrell on the concept of the concerts. "Instead of just having people perform, we literally are going to have humanity harmonise all at once" he also said.

The concerts will be take place in New York, Paris, Sydney, Cape Town, Rio de Janeiro, China and Antarctica on June 18.

The concerts will last between four and six hours.
