There has been a huge controversy over the issue with people wondering why a cash-strapped government who is out there before IMF, begging for a bailout would dole out such an amount of money to journalists.

Multimedia Group of Companies’ Ato Kwamena Dadzie seems unhappy about rebuttals to his statement that the Chief of Staff Mr. Julius Debrah handed 1,000 cedis cash to editors and senior journalists who attended a meeting he had called to improve relations between the presidency and the media.

While some have argued that the amount is aimed at influencing the work of the journalists, others have vehemently dismissed the assertion.

In what could be described as a media frenzy, Ato Kwame Dadzie on his Facebook wall again has issued a warning saying, “Journalists who claim to expose corruption and ineptitude are threatening fire and brimstone over the exposure of their receipt of cash-laden envelopes at the Flagstaff House. We shall see...”

As to what exactly this means, your guess is as good as mine.
