A shocking moment occurred when football fans stormed the pitch after Hamburg secured promotion to the Bundesliga, leaving at least 25 people needing hospital treatment.
The chaos unfolded at the Volksparkstadion after HSV’s huge 6-1 win over SSV Ulm, which confirmed their return to the top division of German football.
In the excitement, hundreds of fans leapt from the stands, knocked down advertising boards, and rushed onto the pitch in a wild celebration.
Videos from the match showed some fans jumping on players, others running towards the dugouts, and a few even trying to enter the dressing rooms before police stepped in to stop them.

The celebration quickly turned into panic. A large emergency response was needed to treat the injured. According to the Sun, one person suffered life-threatening injuries, 19 were seriously hurt, and five others had minor injuries, according to Berliner Tageszeitung.
The fire service said several fans were hurt from jumping down from the stands, while others got injured in the chaos on the pitch. In total, 44 people received treatment on site. About 65 emergency workers and multiple ambulances rushed to the scene.
Hamburg’s victory ended their seven-year spell in the second division and followed six failed attempts to gain promotion. While the win was cause for celebration, it also placed extra pressure on emergency services.
