The University of Cape Coast in the Central Region has suspended 22 students for their role in a violent clash between Atlantic Hall (ATL) and Oguaa Hall during a Hall week celebration in March.

Three students were stabbed and school properties vandalised during the incident which was triggered after a misunderstanding.

A student who was returning from night study is reportedly paralysed as a result of several stabs he received from his attackers.

The notice of rustication sighted by Pulse.com.gh noted: “The following students have with effect from the second semester of the 2016/2017 academic year been rusticated from the University for the periods indicated against their names for roles played in the Disturbances at the Oguaa Hall on Friday, 17th March 2017, during the 2017 ATLANTIC HALL WEEK celebrations.”

Prior to the suspension, two final year students were rusticated for the role in the skirmishes.

Majority of the student suspended are ATL Hall executives who supervised the hall week celebrations.
