Gunshots fired as Fulani Herdsmen attack nurses at CHPs Compound

“The clinic and the Bungalow are located at the outskirts of the community, so yesterday we were there when the Fulani herdsmen stormed the clinic, apparently they were returning from the bush and without provocation began attacking the facility.

“They initially asked for food, and when we told them we don’t have food they started to attack and attempted to take away some items from the Clinic. They finally took away our motorbike but because there was no key they hid it in the bush,” a nurse narrated.

She added that “the Fulani herdsmen fired gunshots at the Clinic but luckily no one was hurt.”

Meanwhile, the Kwahu East District Director of Health has ordered for the removal of the nurses from the community as this is not the first time they have been attacked.

But the Krontihene of Dwerebease, Nana Danso Agyei and his elders have pleaded with the nurses not to leave as they will put in place measures to provide them with adequate security.
