Reports suggest that the Police Officer was using a thoroughfare at the barracks to the regional police command. However, the soldiers stopped him and asked to return because it was late.

But the police officer did not heed their caution and insisted on using the route leading to a confrontation between him and the soldiers

This disagreement made the soldiers beat the police officer mercilessly causing some injuries. They also seized his car keys.

The victim is currently receiving medical treatment at the Okomfo Anokye Teaching Hospital in the Ashanti region.

The military has met with the police to officially apologise and also return the seized keys.

The Military High Command also said that they have started an investigation into the incident and promised to bring the perpetrators to book.
